ACH calls on council to save the 64 bus service

Newly elected MSP for Edinburgh Western, Alex Cole-Hamilton has called upon the SNP/Labour led council to reverse its decision to end the subsidy of the 64 bus service, currently operated by E&M Horsburgh which serves communities across West Edinburgh. As it stands the service will be discontinued from 4th June 2016.

Alex Said: "I've spoken to the operators of this vital life line service and it is quite clear to me that they are very keen to keep providing the 64 service. I was surprised to learn that they had even offered the city a 10% reduction but had received no response to this.

"The 64 is for many local residents the only viable public transport route and could leave some, particularly older residents stranded and socially isolated. I have written to the City's transport convener asking her to reverse this decision with immediate effect."
