Airport Bus Success

PRESSURE PAYS OFF: NEW NORTH EDINBURGH AIRLINK 200 SERVICE TO START IN APRIL

I’m writing to you with the fantastic news that as of April 23rd a brand new Airlink 200 service will commence to serve communities along the A90 corridor from 4am-midnight on a half hourly basis.

The service is operated by Lothian and will run between Ocean Terminal and the airport via Drylaw, Blackhall, Clermiston and Gogarburn.

My team and I launched this campaign when I first became a Lib Dem candidate for this community in early 2014. Over that time I’ve been working closely with the Airport, Lothian Buses and Community Councils to build a case for this service. I’ve collected literally thousands of signatures and local testimony to demonstrate the popularity of the idea to the airport and the operator. I’m grateful to both for taking us so seriously and making this a reality.

The new service will be in addition to the hugely popular Airlink 100 which runs through Corstorphine. That service won’t be affected but it is hoped that a new route serving North Edinburgh and the A90 will reduce the prevalence of car dumping in Corstorphine, by those from the North of the city seeking to use the airport bus.

Many thanks to all those of you who lent their support to this campaign.
