Reports have indicated that chronic pain waiting times are far worse than official figures initially suggested.
This is simply not good enough from the Scottish Government.
Thousands of patients living with chronic pain are being overlooked, while new cases are prioritised to help health boards hit Government targets.
While there are always going to be some cases that are more urgent than others, delays in treatment of up to and over a year and long journeys for treatment put an enormous burden on care patients.
The Scottish Government need to ensure that chronic pain sufferers get the care they need and commit to publishing health care statistics that tell the whole story.
