It's time the SNP got serious about supporting the NHS

I've called on SNP Ministers to got serious about supporting doctors and nurses after UNISON raised concerns over NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s £69 million funding gap.

The union claimed planned land sales indicate that the Health Board are at the point of making cuts which will affect patient care.

It has been claimed that NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board bosses advised UNISON that the Board has to make savings of £69m to balance the books.

Every part of our NHS is operating under huge pressure and it is time that the Scottish Government got serious about giving doctors and nurses the support they need.

The fact that NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde seem to have been forced into a fire sale to plug a massive funding gap is a huge concern.

Doctors and nurses in Glasgow and right across Scotland are being asked to do more with less every year. An additional £69 million of forced savings in Glasgow can only damage the services that the local NHS is able to provide.

Every part of our NHS is operating under huge pressure and it is time that the Scottish Government got serious about giving doctors and nurses the support they need.
