SNP in denial over GP crisis

The Cabinet Secretary for Health has her head in the sand on Scotland’s GP crisis after she denied that Scotland is facing a crisis in primary care.

Shona Robison MSP made her comments in response to a question from Mr Cole-Hamilton during a hearing of Holyrood’s health committee.

The Royal College of GPs has warned that Scotland is set to be hundreds of GPs short by 2020.

The Health Secretary appears to have her head in the sand over Scotland’s GP crisis. The RCGP say that we will be hundreds of doctors short in primary care by 2020.

Training places are not being filled. List sizes are increasing and doctors and practice nurses are crying out for support.

If the Cabinet Secretary does not think this is a crisis she is deluded.

An entire profession is looking to the SNP for leadership here but the Government have their fingers firmly in their ears.
