We've backed calls from Shelter for urgent action to tackle homelessness as new figures from the charity revealed nearly 30,000 households became homeless in Scotland last year.
There is currently no homelessness strategy and the Scottish Government must match their rhetoric with action.
It's shameful that in one of the most developed countries in the world, 30,000 households faced the frightening reality of homelessness.
I want to see fewer Scots forced out of their homes and onto the streets or into temporary accommodation.
That means investing in housing and finally hitting targets for affordable homes for social rent. The SNP moved the goalposts on housing targets after they came into government five years ago.
Shelter are right that it is time that this issue was taken seriously.
