Alex Cole-Hamilton has welcomed the decision to allow care home visits to resume.
Alex said: “Across two lockdowns, many of our most vulnerable citizens have been forced into months of near total isolation. “Loneliness and isolation can be devastating for both physical and mental health, and can worsen conditions like dementia. In many cases, visits from relatives may be one of the last things tethering people to their lives and identities. It’s simply fantastic that this can now resume.”
Alex also thanked the grassroots ‘Let Us Visit’ campaign for their work on the issue, and for championing giving access to PPE and tests to relatives to allow visiting.
