Cole-Hamilton: “Explosive” BMA report must trigger SNP soul-searching

Responding to new figures from the BMA showing 72 per cent of the doctors surveyed believe targets are prioritised over quality of care, while 68 per cent feel the same about finances, Scottish Liberal Democrat Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP said:

“This is an explosive report that ought to trigger some real soul-searching by the SNP.

“Hardworking medical professionals are suggesting that cost saving and a target driven culture are being privileged over patient care.

“Together with recent revelations over staffing levels, this paints a damning picture of this Scottish Government’s handling of our health service.

“Scottish Liberal Democrats will continue to demand that the Scottish Government give our health service the support and resources it needs.”
