Speaking after the Government narrowly avoided defeat in a debate on its management of the health service, Scottish Liberal Democrat health spokesperson Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP said:
“On the SNP's watch, key targets are being missed, tens of thousands of children are waiting for mental health treatment and GPs and nurses are warning that their job is becoming harder and harder.
“The Scottish Government must commit to a radical rethink of how it approaches our vital health services. There are so many areas that require urgent attention. The Scottish Government should start by lifting the public sector pay cap, replacing the long overdue suicide prevention strategy that expired in December last year and increase the funding for general practice.”
