A real privilege to officially open the new Citizens Advice Bureau service on Pennywell Rd in Muirhouse with neighbouring MSP Ben Macpherson. Such a fantastic resource for the community. 


Visit to The Prince's Trust

A trip down memory lane today with my visit to Tthe Prince's Trust, where I worked for 4 years (When it was Fairbridge) in my early career. They’re doing great work offering life and employability skills to hard to reach young people across Edinburgh.




Blackhall BikeBus!

So great to be part of the Blackhall BikeBus with Darcy! Well over 100 people on wheels - and not cars! Days like this are crucial to changing attitudes and reducing pollution. 



Young Carers Festival

I left the Young Carers Festival totally inspired and just a little exhausted by the bouncy castle! We need to do so much more to first identify and then get support to Scotland's young carers. 


Muirhouse Community Shed

Recently I had such an inspiring morning at Muirhouse Community Shed, learning about their work teaching nearly 200 members of the community, woodwork skills, climate literacy whilst tackling poor mental health and social isolation. They even let me have a go! 


March for Europe

Amazing energy from the thousands I had the privilege of speaking to at the #MarchforEurope in Edinburgh in September. We've been marching for 3 years and will not give up.


Champion for Bronchiectasis

It's a great honour and privilege to have been nominated to be the British Lung Foundation 'Champion for Bronchiectasis'. I will be working to do all I can to raise awareness of the illness, how it's diagnosed and treated. 


A&E weekly performance hits worst rate since March 2018

Performance against the A&E waiting time target has fallen to its lowest level since March 2018, with only 85.4% of patients treated within 4 hours compared to the 95% target.

Cole-Hamilton calls for large fines for defibrillator vandalism

Scottish Liberal Democrat health spokesperson Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP has today called for the implementation of an offence aggravator, in the form of additional fines, for people who damage automated external defibrillators (AEDS).

Sick Kids has been an “extremely poorly managed project”

Minutes of the meeting of NHS Lothian’s board specifically overseeing the Sick Kids project revealed there were over 2,000 snagging issues identified at the hospital in May.
