Recent reports show NHS Grampian cannot meet their 12-week planned surgery timescale.
Liberal Democrats have been warning for months that staff haven’t been given the support and resources they need to meet national targets. The longer the SNP Government fails to step up, the greater the chances that Grampian won’t be the last health board that will resort to making such difficult decisions and limiting treatment in this way.
Long waits for treatment are unacceptable because they impact upon people’s quality of life and cause significant personal disruption. SNP ministers have a responsibility to explain how they will turn this situation around.
