NHS vote sends clear message to SNP

Parties across the chamber backed a motion calling for extra scrutiny of NHS closure decisions - the Scottish Government were defeated.

This vote sends a clear message to the Health Secretary that these damaging NHS closure proposals need to be called in by Ministers and scrutinised by the Scottish Parliament. Today we heard about patients who rely on services like the cleft palate services at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children. The changes that have been proposed would have a big impact and proper scrutiny is the least that people are entitled to expect.
