Alex has been doggedly pursuing improvement for residents using Dalmeny station who have seen countless rush hour trains cancelled due to overcrowding.
As well as meeting with ScotRail on a weekly basis since before Christmas, he has challenged the Cabinet Secretary for Transport on the floor of the Scottish Parliament. He has secured several measures to make life easier for commuters. These include an advance stop order on trains from Aberdeen when Fife circle trains are cancelled and some compensation for season ticket holders. He is now working to get a stop order put on North bound Aberdeen trains in the evening to relieve pressure on the Fife circle. He has also secured a commitment from ScotRail Managing Director Alex Hynes to address a public meeting in South Queensferry in late May or early June.
