Alex has challenged the First Minister to visit stations across Scotland and listen to passengers about the impact of the timetable reductions.
Alex called on the SNP/Green government to “take responsibility for the hard decisions and do the hard graft of planning” after over 700 daily services were withdrawn indefinitely.
He said, “The promise to passengers of a stronger green rail network is in tatters. For all their talk about the climate emergency and the importance of public transport, they have just made it harder to leave the car at home.
“They said the nationalisation would enable trains to be run for the benefit of passengers, but neglected to come up with a better plan than abolishing a third of the timetable.”
